Don Tomás

Don Tomás is a line of Honduran cigars produced by General Cigar. The line was introduced in the 1970's and consists of four brands: Don Tomás Clasico, Don Tomás Cameroon, Don Tomás Candela, and Don Tomás Maduro. Don Tomás cigars have a mild-medium bodied strength. Each Don Tomás cigar features havana-seed tobaccos.
During the cigar boom of the 1990's, Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos became more scarce and more expensive. Like many other manufacturers, they turned to alternate sources, like Indonesia, Mexico, and Colombia for tobacco that was less costly. Under the guidance of Estelo Padron, Don Tomás resumed using Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos again.

Don Tomás Cameroon cigars were added to the line in 2000. They come in seven sizes (four of which are perfectos) and feature a sun grown cameroon wrapper. All tobaccos used in these cigars are aged for a minimum of three years. Don Tomás Cameroon cigars are known for a rich, spicy taste.
The Don Tomás Cameroon Collection was listed in Cigar Aficionado's 2004 list of the top 50 cigars of 2004 and received a rating of '90.'

Don Tomás Candela cigars are made with green-colored Talanga Valley candela wrappers that have been aged for 18 years. According to the factory where they are produced, during a recent inventory of the factory, four bales of the wrapper were dicovered that had been aging for 18 years. Introduced in 2005, this cigar is being produced in limited quantities and is exclusive to Cigars International. They have a smooth, creamy taste.
